Mary McDonnell

 Mary Eileen McDonnell (born April 28th 1952) is an American film, stage, and television actress. She has received Academy Award nominations for her roles as Stands With A Fist in Dances with Wolves and May-Alice Culhane in Passion Fish. McDonnell is famous for her performances as President Laura Roslin in Battlestar Galactica as well as First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day, and Rose in Donnie Darko. McDonnell was the Captain Sharon Raydor on seasons 5-7 of TNT's show The Closer. She also starred in Major Crimes, the spin-off show on TNT's network, as the Commander Sharon Raydor.
